Wool Khadi Shawl Cedar

A hand-spun woolen shawl with a braided fringe and a wove geometric pattern.

This Indian wool tweed is a unique, traditionally woven fabric in which every stage is done by hand using local resources. The artisanal process generates no waste and doesn’t use any chemicals or electricity. Set up to support and promote artisanal crafts, in which the process is entirely run & operated by the women of the Himachal Pradesh tribe.

These wools are made from the hair of local mountain goats. The goats are sheered, and the hair is sorted into colours before being spun on a wheel called a Charkha. These yarns are then woven into shawls on a hand operated loom, are softened through the process of washing with soapnut.

100% wool, 110cm x 230cm.
Approx. 350gsm.
