Free Pattern - The Orion Vest

25 September 2024
Designed with practicality in mind, the Orion Vest is a versatile waistcoat combining functionality with style. Featuring large, scooped pockets to keep your essentials close at hand, its durable construction ensures longevity while placket detailing and tie-fastenings add an effortless touch of style. The pattern comes in 2 sizes and can be easily adapted and simplified to suit different fabrics.

We have compiled a free sewing pattern and maker's guide which is now available online to download and print. The pattern is made in collaboration with the extremely talented Natasha Hua @nhua_design.

SUITABLE FABRICS

This pattern works wonderfully with light to medium-weight fabrics, allowing you to bind the seams and make the ties in self-fabric or a lighter material, depending on your choice. We've used our Light Drill Blue here, but soft denims such as the Rain & Iro Denim would also suit this utility style, while our Quilt Jacquard cotton or soft Faiba Wool & Linen would be warmer choices. For heavier fabrics like canvas or denim, consider lining the waistcoat with a lightweight lining for added comfort and structure.
