Current vacancy - Online & Studio Assistant – Starting May 2026
We are looking for a team member to help with the smooth running of our Camden studio. The studio is a busy place and acts as both a shop and a warehouse, it’s where we fulfil our online orders, serve customers, and receive deliveries. We’re excited to welcome someone into our small team, to work closely with us across a variety of roles.
Main daily duties will be fulfilling online orders, greeting and serving customers, answering the phone, and managing appointments. High standards will be maintained with tidying, taking regular stock checks and organising replenishments. As we’re a small team, this position has the potential to develop depending on the skills and initiative shown.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a good attention to detail and will be personable and confident in dealing with people. A knowledge of fabric is not strictly necessary, but an understanding of good customer service and a willingness to be helpful and thorough in your job is essential. There will be some computer-based work such as updating our Shopify website and using our shipping programme, but training will be given.
Please note: This will be a manual job with regular heavy lifting and climbing ladders. The shop is spread over 4 floors and is a busy environment, so you will be actively on your feet for most of the day. We also have a resident shop dog, an American Bully called Apollo.
Main Duties
Fulfilling online orders - You will be trained in the process of cutting fabric, wrapping and packing orders, using our order fulfilment programme, and liaising with couriers. We all work together, and attention to detail is a must to minimise errors.
Customer service - Camden is a busy shop, and we juggle fulfilling online orders along with serving customers, answering calls and emails and receiving deliveries. Maintaining a good level of customer service is very important. We will train you to be knowledgeable about our fabrics and the products we sell, as you will be required to offer advice to customers about their projects.
Stock maintenance – Working with the team to complete regular stock checks, arranging stock replenishment and labelling. Once trained, you will be expected to have a good knowledge of the stock we hold and to be pro-active in helping to manage and organise the warehouse.
Housekeeping - Working with the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised, and the fabrics tidy and clearly labelled.
